Leadership Howard County is accepting applications

Leadership Howard County is accepting applications for next year's program.

The program is designed to provide a network of people who will create and implement plans for community improvement.

Public and private sector leaders will become acquainted with all aspects of Howard County life: its culture, educational system, health services, economy and government.

Candidates must be Howard County residents or work for a county-based organization. They must have demonstrated leadership qualities, hold a position of responsibility within a company or association, and be willing to become involved in improving the quality of life in the county.

Completed applications must be returned by June 5.

Adam R. Miceli has been named account executive for Lawrence Howard & Associateds Inc., an advertising, public relations and market research firm in Reisterstown. He is a Columbia resident.

Scott E. Palmer, formerly a branch manager for Columbia Bank's Long Gate Center office, has been promoted to assistant vice president. In his new position, he will oversee all operations of the bank's Town Center branch.
