A Lineboro man was sentenced yesterday to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to burglary, theft, possession of heroin and probation violations on two previous convictions.
As part of a plea agreement, Craig W. Hann, 20, of the 4400 block of Baughman Mill Road, received a 16-year sentence for a July burglary in Millers. All but 10 years were suspended and sentences involving the other violations were made concurrent. Hann appeared in Carroll County Circuit Court.
Once released, Hann will be placed on five years' probation and must pay restitution of no more than $6,968. The total will be determined within 30 days by prosecutors, who said Hann kicked in doors of at least four homes to steal guns, jewelry and stereo equipment. He pawned the items to feed a heroin addiction, prosecutors said.
When arrested Feb. 25, Hann had 2 grams of heroin in his possession. Some of the stolen items were recovered after police searched the Westminster home of his girlfriend, court records show.
