Bridge over Stoney Creek will close to pedestrians

The bridge that carries Fort Smallwood Road over Stoney Creek in Pasadena is being closed to pedestrian traffic by the State Highway Administration from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily through Thursday while maintenance crews work on the bridge.

Motorists also can expect single lanes to be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

On Friday, the single-lane closings are scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. The $352,500 project is to be completed by May 20, highway officials said.

Message signs will direct traffic to detours along Solley Road, Edwin Raynor Boulevard and Mountain Road.

SHA to shut down I-195 at intervals for trail work

The State Highway Administration will close eastbound Inter- state 195 near Baltimore-Washington International Airport several times for about 15 minutes tomorrow and Thursday to erect concrete girders for the bridge that will carry the BWI Trail over the road.

The bridge is to be between the Baltimore-Washington Parkway and the Telegraph Road interchange.

The administration also will close the westbound lanes of I-195 near the airport for 15-minute intervals from 11 p.m. May 27 to 5 a.m. May 28.

The work is on part of the last section of the hiker-biker trail, which is laid out in a loop around the airport.

Phase I of the project, between the Linthicum light rail station and the Dorsey Road-Aviation Boulevard interchange of Interstate 97, was completed in the summer of 1994.

Phase II of the trail, from the Dorsey Road-Aviation Boulevard interchange to the Thomas A. Dixon Aircraft Observation Area off Dorsey Road, was completed in the fall of 1995.
