Bozzuto Group CEO is named builder of year


Tom Bozzuto, chief executive officer of the Bozzuto Group, has been named the Freddie Mac Builder of the Year at the National Association of Home Builders annual Pillars of the Industry awards ceremony in Chicago.

Bozzuto was recognized by NAHB judges for his work in constructing high-quality and affordable multifamily units.

His firm, based in Greenbelt, has developed and built more than 10,000 housing units and apartments in the mid-Atlantic region. The firm has built condominium units in Owings Mills New Town as well as in Russett in Anne Arundel County.

In total, Bozzuto has overseen development of more than $275 million in income-producing properties in the Baltimore and Washington markets.

A past president of the Suburban Maryland Building Industry Association, Bozzuto has served as president of the board of the Baltimore Corporation for Housing Partnerships. He is chairman of the board of trustees of the Maryland Science Center and the board of Catholic Charities.

The competition seeks to recognize firms and individuals who demonstrate commitment to the highest standards in multifamily design and management.
