County police arrested two carnival workers Wednesday morning after they pulled up to a Glen Burnie Rite Aid store and, police say, began stealing milk crates as a patrol officer watched.
Police said the men also had prescription tablets and seven switchblade knives.
Charles Brown, 56, and Daniel McCarty, 41, both of Elmira, N.Y., were charged with theft and prescription drug violations and carrying and selling switchblade knives, police said.
Northern District Officer James Brown was behind the Rite Aid store in the 7900 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. about 11 a.m. Wednesday when he saw two men loading milk crates into their car, police said.
Police said the two men work at Reithoffer's Carnival.
But Dennis Knauer, the carnival's games manager, said Brown collected switchblades and that the pills were for Brown's arthritis.
