Baltimore convenience store raided owner is arrested on drug charges

THE BALTIMORE SUN

The owner of a West Baltimore convenience store was arrested yesterday in a raid of the premises that turned up 20 pounds of marijuana, $10,000 in cash, a shotgun and a handgun, city police said.

Charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana under the state's drug kingpin law was Roger Friday, 47, of the 500 block of N. Carey St., the owner of Friday's in the 1200 block of W. Franklin St.

Officer Michael Moran of the Western District's drug enforcement unit said Friday was arrested after a yearlong undercover surveillance during which police bought marijuana at his store.

Police estimated that the seized marijuana was worth $90,000.
