The watercolors of Michelle Sanzi Kermes constitute half of a two-person exhibit opening at Resurgam today. Kermes, influenced by prehistoric rock carvings as well as modern color schemes, combines geometric and organic forms to create works of optimism. The other artist, Shari Weschler Rubeck, focuses on the circus as a metaphor for life. Her works include decorative gourds, masks of wood and papier mache, monotypes, paintings on veneer and computer-generated images.
At Resurgam Gallery, 190 S. Charles St., through May 31. Noon to 6 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, noon to 3 p.m. Sundays. There will be an opening reception from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. For information, call 410-962-0513.
