Poster contest winners

Three Runnymede Elementary students were among the winners in the Westminster Police Department's 1998 poster contest.

The theme was "Tragedy is only a Drug Away -- Say No To Drugs."

Emily Cullinane, Aubrey Cunningham and Katie Walter were the Runnymede winners. Congratulations.

Pride in our community

The Family and Community Council of Taneytown is asking residents to give a few hours of their time May 16 to help with several beautification projects.

They'll even throw in lunch for the volunteers!

I'll give more details in next week's column, but the organizers would like anyone interested in helping to register by today,if possible.
