Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Eastern District

Shooting: A 44-year-old man was in the 800 block of McAleer Court about 11: 50 p.m. Tuesday when a man shot him in the head. The victim walked four blocks to the Old Town fire station in the 1100 block of Hillen St., where he was given first aid before being taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was released after treatment.

Assault: Two men attacked another man in the 1600 block of Aisquith St. on Tuesday and struck him several times with a baseball bat. The man refused medical treatment.

Southern District

Burglary: A videocassette recorder and 30 compact discs, all valued at nearly $400, were stolen from a house in the 1200 block of Riverside Ave. on Tuesday by someone who entered through a rear window.

Western District

Robbery: A male motorist was stopped in the 2300 block of Liberty Heights Ave. on Tuesday when another man asked if he could give his mother a ride. When the driver refused, the other man reached into the car's open window and removed $800 from his shirt pocket.

Robbery try/shooting: A boy, 12, was in the 500 block of Wheeler Ave. about 7 p.m. Tuesday when an older male armed with a BB pistol demanded his money. When the victim refused, the other youth shot him, causing a minor injury.

Northwestern District

Burglary: Three sports shirts, a videocassette recorder and an electronic TV game, all valued at nearly $400, were stolen from a house in the 3400 block of Mondawmin Ave. on Tuesday.

Northern District

Theft: Police were seeking two men who entered a house in the 3900 block of Roland Ave. about 2 a.m. yesterday and stole auto repair tools of unknown value.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary/animal cruelty: Someone entered a barn in the 2500 block of Beckleysville Road in Freeland on Tuesday night and killed five baby chickens.
