The County Council will hold two public hearings in its review of County Executive John G. Gary's proposed budget for the coming fiscal year. The council is likely to vote on the budget by May 22.
The hearings will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Old Mill High School and at 7 p.m. May 13 at the Arundel Center in Annapolis
The council is also holding hearings this month in council chambers at the Arundel Center during which departments and agencies defend their budget requests:
1 p.m., today, Library, Human Services, Recreation and Parks (capital budgets).
1 p.m., tomorrow, Anne Arundel Community College, Board of Education (capital budgets).
10 a.m., Friday, additional time for capital budgets if needed.
1 p.m., Friday, Personnel, Chief Administrative Office, Administrative Hearings, Board of Elections (operating budgets).
1 p.m., Monday, Board of Education (operating budget).
1 p.m., Tuesday, Board of Education (operating budget).
1 p.m., May 13, County Executive's Drug Initiative, Board of Health, Human Services, Aging, Social Services, Recreation and Parks (operating budgets).
1 p.m., May 14, State's Attorney, County Law Office, Ethics Commission, County Executive's Office, Central Services (operating budgets).
10 a.m., May 15, County Land Use and Environment, Public Works, Utilities, Solid Waste, Planning and Code Enforcement (operating budgets).
10 a.m., May 18, Police Department, EMS/Fire/Rescue, Sheriff, County Detention Center (operating budgets).
