David Coley, a senior at Connecticut College, is a 1997-1998 recipient of the Abrahms Prize for Nonfiction.
The scholarship is given annually to an English major for outstanding achievement in nonfiction writing.
Coley is a 1994 graduate of McDonogh School. He is the son of Joan Coley of Westminster and Bob Coley of Columbia.

Westminster: Firefighters responded at 12: 31 a.m. yesterday to a fire alarm in the 600 block of Baltimore Blvd. Units were out one hour and 30 minutes.
Police
Westminster: A resident of Charingworth Road told police Friday that someone stole property from his garage. The loss was estimated at $345.
Westminster: An employee of Direct To You Gas on East George Street told police Thursday that someone broke into the business through a window and stole property. Damage and loss were estimated at $343.
