Braves: PGA golfers David Duval and Lee Janzen got a tour of the clubhouse from pitcher John Smoltz. Duval and Janzen are in town for the BellSouth Classic, a tournament that begins Thursday.

Brewers: Milwaukee, which has its first three-game skid of the DTC year, had not lost by more than three runs in its inaugural NL season. Slugger David Nilsson went 1-for-2 with an RBI double in the second game of his rehab assignment with Single-A Beloit.

Expos: Rondell White's hitting streak was stopped at 14 games. It was the second 14-game streak of his career. Pedro Martinez, who won the NL Cy Young Award last season for Montreal and then was traded to Boston, returned to Olympic Stadium -- as a spectator. Martinez, in town visiting friends on a day off for the Red Sox, took a front-row box seat beside the Montreal dugout in the third, after exchanging greetings with former teammate Carlos Perez.

Giants: Pitcher Shawn Estes went 0-for-3, ending his four-game hitting streak.

Phillies: Catcher Mike Lieberthal missed his second straight game with a sore right elbow. After only five errors and one unearned run in its first 25 games, Philadelphia made seven errors and allowed nine unearned runs in its just-completed three-game series.
