Disabled veterans installs officers for 1998-1999


Disabled American Veterans Old Glory Post 22 has installed new officers for 1998-1999.

They are Ralph Renner, commander; Arvin Schulyman, first vice commander; William Rau III, second vice commander and sergeant at arms; Arthur Houck, chaplain; Joseph Kane, treasurer; John Corkran, historian; Kenneth Ruby, judge advocate; and Paul Stricklin, service officer.

Ladies auxiliary officers are Elizabeth Houck, commander; Mabel Kibler, first vice commander; Carol Simmons, second vice commander; Kay Jenkins, adjutant; Kathryn Welsh, chaplain; Eva Owings, treasurer; and Lamore Otto, historian.


Westminster: Firefighters responded at 9: 41 p.m. Thursday to a wash detail on Pennsylvania Avene. Units were out 15 minutes.

Reese: Firefighters responded at 8: 30 p.m. Thursday to smoke in the area at Carrollton Road and Lorraine Drive. Units were out 20 minutes.

Westminster: Firefighters from Reese, Pleasant Valley and Manchester assisted Westminster at 3: 52 p.m. Thursday, responding to an apartment fire in the first block of W. Main St. Units were out 31 minutes.

Reese: Firefighters from Westminster assisted Reese at 3: 41 p.m. Thursday, responding to a truck fire in the 1300 block of Old Westminster Pike. Units were out 20 minutes.

Westminster: Firefighters from Reese, Gamber, Hampstead and Manchester assisted Westminster at 10: 28 a.m. Thursday, responding to a building fire in the 200 block of Stoner Ave. Units were out 42 minutes.

Westminster: Firefighters responded at 5: 42 a.m. Thursday to a fire alarm in the first block of Memorial Drive. Units were out two minutes.


Westminster: A resident of Sullivan Road told police Wednesday that a cellular phone was stolen from her car while it was parked in the 200 block of E. Green St. The loss was estimated at $150.
