A man was fatally stabbed during an argument early yesterday inside a Southeast Baltimore rowhouse. Police said they arrested and charged his live-in girlfriend with first-degree murder.

Muriel Harris, 39, of the 1100 block of E. Pratt St. was being held in the Central Booking and Intake Center without bail yesterday. Authorities withheld the name of the 36-year-old victim pending notification of relatives.

Police said the couple began quarreling about 2: 30 a.m. The victim was stabbed once in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

OWINGS MILLS -- Baltimore County police have located the mother of a young boy left at an Owings Mills store Friday.

Sgt. Kevin Novak said the mother dropped off the boy, who is 2 or 3 years old, at Hechinger's in the 1100 block of Reisterstown Road about 4 p.m. so he could visit his father as part of court-ordered visitation.

Police tracked down the boy's mother when a relative called after seeing television broadcasts. "What it may boil down to is a misunderstanding," Novak said, adding that police have not decided whether to file charges.
