Shooting: A man was in the 400 block of N. Eutaw St. about 1 a.m. Monday when he was shot in the chest by a man who attempted to rob him. The gunman escaped. The victim was in good condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Burglary/arrest: A man was arrested after he entered a building at Ken B. Mumaw Plumbing & Heating in the 3500 block of Parkdale Ave. on Monday and stole welding equipment valued at nearly $3,500. A second suspect was being sought.
Purse snatch: A woman was in the 2200 block of St. Paul St. about 10 p.m. Monday when a man asked her for the time. Before the woman could respond, the man stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $30, and fled.
Robbery: A 76-year-old man was walking down the alley behind the 400 block of Regester Ave. about 10 a.m. Monday when another man robbed him of $80 after threatening to stick him with a needle. The victim was not injured.
Robbery: A woman was seated in her car at Loch Raven Plaza Shopping Center in the 800 block of Taylor Ave. about 2 p.m. Monday when a man who implied he was armed with a handgun demanded her money and jewelry. The victim gave him $45 and a diamond ring of unknown value.
Robbery: After a man entered The Country's Best Yogurt in the 700 block of York Road and ordered an ice cream cone about 9 p.m. Monday, he pulled a handgun and robbed the store of more than $100. The gunman escaped in a car driven by another man.
Burglary: Someone entered a room at the Hunt Valley Inn in the 200 block of Shawan Road between March 18 and Sunday and stole a guest's jewelry valued at more than $400.
Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 200 block of Gateswood Road through a rear door Monday and stole $250 and three bottles of after-shave lotion.
Robbery: A woman was about to enter her apartment in the first block of Brubar Court about 3: 40 p.m. Monday when a man with a knife robbed her of her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $100.
Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed the High's dairy store in the 11300 block of Reisterstown Road of $100 about 10 p.m. Monday.

Robbery suspect sought: A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Robert Allan, 25, of no fixed address, for the March 23 armed robbery of the Burger King restaurant in the 1200 block of W. North Ave. Anyone having information about his whereabouts is asked to call the robbery squad at 410-396-2636. Metro Crime Stoppers is offering a reward.
