A Perry Hall man who pleaded guilty to selling marijuana to undercover Carroll County sheriff's deputies on three occasions in November was sentenced yesterday to 10 years in prison.
Frederick N. Boston Jr., 20, was arrested Nov. 27 at the Scenic View Motel in Finksburg after accepting $1,350 for a pound of marijuana. He also was charged with selling marijuana on Nov. 9 and Nov. 14 at a home in Sykesville.
Circuit Judge Raymond E. Beck Sr. sentenced Boston to concurrent terms of five years for each of the Sykesville offenses and imposed a consecutive five-year term for the Finksburg offense.
In addition, Beck imposed 10-year sentences for using a minor to distribute marijuana and for using a handgun in the trafficking of drugs. The judge suspended half of each sentence and made them concurrent to the first count of distributing marijuana.
Upon his release, Boston will be on five years' probation and must pay restitution of $800 to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, the amount lost in the undercover drug purchases.
