New Cut Road car accident leaves 2 teens hospitalized Police News

Two Severn youths were hospitalized and three others wer injured Wednesday when the car they were packed into skidded out of control on New Cut Road and flipped over, county police said.

Two of the youths were thrown from the car.

Police said the 1987 Nissan was traveling south about 2: 30 p.m. when the driver, a 16-year-old Severn girl, lost control of the car near Pasture Brook Road.

The car skidded onto the right shoulder and overturned. Troy Boss, 16, of the 7800 block of Sandy Pine Drive and Lauren Stanley, 13, of the 1200 block of Thompson Ave. were thrown from the car.

They were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where Troy remained in critical condition yesterday. Lauren was transferred to the University of Maryland Hospital, where she was in serious but stable condition.

The other passengers, Jeremy Knick, 15, of the 7800 block of W B&A; Road in Severn and Mark Harmon, 14, of the 1200 block of Thompson Ave. in Severn, were treated at North Arundel Hospital and released.

Police would not release the name of the driver because charges against her are pending.
