Bullpen lifts Baysox by Ravens, 4-2 Minor leagues


Gavin Osteen and Jason Bullard combined for four innings of shutout relief as the Bowie Baysox beat the New Haven Ravens, 4-2, in a Double-A Eastern League game last night at Prince George's Stadium.

Osteen took over for starter Chris Curtis (5-1) in the sixth inning and allowed two singles over 3 1/3 innings before being lifted for Bullard in the ninth. The right-hander recorded the final two outs to earn his second save.

Keys 7, Warthogs 5: Rick Short's three-run homer highlighted a four-run sixth inning and propelled Frederick (20-33) past Winston-Salem in a Single-A Carolina League game at Harry Grove Stadium.

Starter Dan Reed allowed four runs and struck out four over six innings to record the victory.
