On the field: Jeff Reboulet, doing a superb job covering for Roberto Alomar, tied the game in the fifth inning with a sacrifice fly, the sixth run the resourceful Orioles lineup has scored on an out in the past five games.
In the dugout: Manager Davey Johnson could have pinch hit for (( Mike Bordick with the bases loaded in the sixth inning, but the Orioles were one run ahead so he chose to stay with his best defensive team. Bordick fouled out to end the inning.
In the clubhouse: Outfielder Jeffrey Hammonds was not in the starting lineup yesterday, but only for strategic reasons. Johnson said Hammonds' inflamed Achilles' tendon is improving. "He's the best he's been since it's been bothering him," Johnson said.
