THE BALTIMORE SUN

BOWIE -- The Bowie Baysox returned to Prince George's Stadium from a winning road trip last night and fell below .500 at home.

They wound up with outfielder Jason LeCronier and infielders Howie Clark and Chris Kirgan finishing the Double-A Eastern League game on the mound as the Reading Phillies handed them a 16-5 drubbing.

It was only Bowie's fifth loss in the past 14 games. Bowie (38-36) is 18-19 on its home field.

Adan Millan homered off loser Julio Moreno (6-3) in the second inning and hit a three-run homer off Clark in the ninth.

Hillcats 8, Keys 3: Lynchburg scored five runs in the sixth inning and collected 15 hits against Frederick pitching to win at home in a Single-A Carolina League game.

Crocs 10, Shorebirds 9: Host Delmarva scored four runs in the ninth but fell short of Cape Fear in the Single-A South Atlantic League game.

Delmarva outfielder Luis Matos and pitcher Derek Brown were demoted to Bluefield in the Rookie-level Appalachian League. Matos batted .210 in 36 games for the Shorebirds, but is expected to be Bluefield's starting center fielder.
