Hits and misses

On the field: Brady Anderson failed to get the ball out of the infield, popping out twice, striking out and grounding out, thus ending his 10-game hitting streak. Roberto Alomar extended his streak to 10 games with two hits. Alomar was the only Orioles runner to reach scoring position.

In the dugout: Manager Davey Johnson gave Alan Mills his third appearance since coming off the disabled list. Mills responded with one solid inning in which he struck out the side after allowing the Brewers a run on a walk and a double in the seventh. Johnson continues to pick his spots for Mills while the reliever regains strength in his left side. "It was good to see him stretch it out again," Johnson said.

In the clubhouse: "It's kind of tough to have expectations in this situation. I'm not where I want to be. I'm not able to do what I want to do." -- Mills, after his outing.
