Westminster woman, 29, is charged in snow-blower theft from Wal-Mart

A Westminster woman was being held yesterday in lieu of $40,000 bail at the Carroll County Detention Center after being arrested on charges of theft, conspiracy to commit theft and failing to appear in court in three pending theft cases, court records show.

Bail for Tracey L. Barron, 29, of the 700 block of Redwood Lane was set at $25,000 in the most recent arrest and at $5,000 on each of the outstanding bench warrants for her failure to appear in court this year.

Her arrest Tuesday stems from the theft Jan. 5 of a $700 snow blower from Wal-Mart in Eldersburg, according to charging documents.

State police said two women and three men were implicated in the theft by a sister and mother of one of the men. The pair told investigators they saw the group at Wal-Mart the day of the theft and saw the machine being loaded onto a truck.

Barron was charged by state police with theft over $300 and conspiring with four others to steal the snow blower.

Court records show that Barron also is accused of stealing merchandise from Belk Department Store at Cranberry Mall on Nov. 2, Sears, Roebuck and Co. at Cranberry Mall on Jan. 25 and Toy Works at Cranberry Square on Jan. 31.
