Juan Munoz hit a grand slam in the top of the ninth inning to rally the Prince William Cannons to a 7-5 victory last night over the Keys at Harry Grove Stadium. The loss was the fourth straight for Frederick (28-18).
Keith Conway pitched 1 1/3 innings of relief, striking out three, to earn the victory for Prince William (18-25).
Shorebirds 5, Asheville 2: Cameron Forbes pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing four hits, for his first win since April 29, and Calvin Pickering and Ivano Coffie each had run-scoring doubles as visiting Delmarva defeated Asheville in a Single-A South Atlantic League game.
Trailing 1-0 after five innings, the Shorebirds (24-22) used a two-run double by Pickering and another double by Coffie to take a 4-1 lead. Scott Eibey retired all eight batters he faced to record his third save.
The Tourists' Steve Matcuk, of Pasadena, had seven strikeouts through five innings before losing a 1-0 lead in the sixth.
