Warning: Here's your last chance this season to watch a new episode of "The Practice," one of the year's best new dramas.
"Home Improvement" (8 p.m.-8: 30 p.m. and 9 p.m.-9: 30 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- Two rebroadcasts for the price of one. And you don't have to sit through an episode of the dying-to-get-off-the-air "Roseanne," which is getting pre-empted for one night only. Instead, you first get to watch as Tim and Jill dream what their lives will be like in 35 years, then watch again as Brad gets his first part-time job. ABC.
"Promised Land" (8 p.m.-9 p.m., WJZ, Channel 13) -- Best-selling author Molly Arnold is a morphine addict, and Russell (Gerald McRaney) is determined to put a stop to that, in this repeat from October. Molly is played by Valerie Harper, who never would have gotten away with this on "Rhoda" -- Mama Morgenstern simply would not allow it. CBS.
"Addams Family Values" (8 p.m.-10 p.m., WBFF, Channel 45) -- Better than the first film, but still not as good as the TV series that inspired it, "Values" has Pugsley and Wednesday reacting badly to the arrival of baby brother Pubert. Christina Ricci is a delightfully morose Wednesday (you'll love what she and her cohorts do to her camp's Thanksgiving pageant), and the late Raul Julia proves a worthy successor to John Astin as the immortal Gomez Addams. Not a bad way to spend an evening (unless you're one of the lucky few whose cable systems offer Nick at Nite's TV Land, which airs original "Addams" episodes every weeknight at 8 p.m. and midnight). Fox.
"Ellen" (8: 30 p.m.-9 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- Ellen and the gang get to spoof a movie and put together a kind of greatest-hits package at the same time, as she volunteers at a hospital and regales a burn victim (see, it's a send-up of "The English Patient") with clips from past shows. ABC.
"My Very Best Friend" (9 p.m.-11 p.m., WJZ, Channel 13) -- Jaclyn Smith and Jill Eikenberry are best friends, except that one is a conniving, murdering TV-movie staple. Pretty scary, huh? CBS.
"Caroline In the City" (9: 30 p.m.-10 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- Marilyn Cooper, who won a Tony award for "Woman of the Year," shows up as an elderly neighbor who appears to be taking undue advantage of Caroline's kindness. NBC.
"The Practice" (10 p.m.-11 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- Bobby (Dylan McDermott) closes his defense of the allegedly murderous Dr. Braun, and the firm takes on a new client: a 19-year-old accused of raping his 14-year-old girlfriend. ABC.
"Biography" (8 p.m.-9 p.m., repeats midnight-1 a.m., A&E;) -- The Peabody Award-winning series celebrates 10 years on the air by looking at some the world's most fascinating people. Tonight: Leonardo da Vinci, painter, inventor, architect, mathematician and prankster (his journals can be read only when held to a mirror).
"The Great Egyptians" (9 p.m.-10 p.m., repeats midnight-1 a.m., The Learning Channel) -- Devoted mate, loving mother, compassionate ruler can this really be Cleopatra we're talking about? One thing's for sure: she didn't look anything like Claudette Colbert or Elizabeth Taylor.
