Howard County police arrested a 42-year-old Columbia man last week after a slow-speed chase through the streets of Wilde Lake village.
Police said the chase began about 10 a.m. on Harper's Farm Road when they attempted to stop a car driven by a man wanted in connection with an incident that occurred earlier that morning at a house on Folly Quarter Road in western Howard County.
When the driver refused to stop, he led police on a chase along Harper's Farm Road, Twin Rivers Road and Green Mountain Circle at speeds ranging from 25 to 30 mph, a report said.
Lloyd McKenzie Phillips of the 10300 block of Daystar Court in the Wilde Lake village was eventually arrested and charged with breaking and entering, assault and various motor vehicle violations.
In the incident on Folly Quarter Road, several people were allegedly assaulted after someone forced his way into a house, though no one was seriously hurt, police said.
Police said Phillips also faces charges of kicking a police officer in the head while being transferred to the Howard County Detention Center, where he was being held on $100,000 bail.
Pfc. Donald Lundin was taken to Howard County General Hospital, where he was treated for a possible concussion and released.
