Shooting: A 19-year-old man was in the 500 block of Presstman St. on Monday when a gunman demanded his money and jewelry. When the victim tried to flee, he was shot in the buttocks and lower right leg. He was in critical condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Theft: Police were seeking a teen-age boy who entered a house in the 2200 block of Linden Ave. between Jan. 23 and yesterday and stole a Smith & Wesson 9 mm semiautomatic handgun, with serial number VDF7161S622A and valued at more than $700. Since the theft, the youth has been seen trying to sell the weapon throughout the Reservoir Hill area.
Shooting: A 32-year-old woman was in an alley behind the 1900 block of Hollins St. yesterday when she heard gunshots and felt a pain in her right side. She had been shot in the right kidney and was in stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Shooting: A man was standing in the 2600 block of Nevada St. yesterday when he was shot in the right leg and left hand by the driver of a passing van. The victim was in good condition at University of Maryland Medical Center. A suspect was being sought.
Stolen vehicle: A 1990 Dodge Caravan with tags 805292M was stolen Monday in the 6200 block of Park Heights Ave.
Robbery: Two older boys robbed a 9-year-old boy of his sled in the 3700 block of Dolfield Ave. on Monday.
Robbery: Two men shoved a 77-year-old man to the ground in the 2400 block of Guilford Ave., took his wallet and $27 Monday night.
Theft: Police were seeking a man who, while a guest of a resident of the 700 block of E. 41st St. on Sunday, stole a 19-inch television valued at nearly $300 and a videocassette recorder valued at more than $150.
Cab holdup: After picking up a couple Monday night at Park Avenue and West Fayette Street, a driver for the ABC cab company was told to take them to the Pen Lucy area off Old York Road. In the 600 block of Cator Ave., the man told the cabdriver to stop, pulled out a handgun and robbed him of more than $200.
Burglary: A 9 mm handgun and a 12-gauge shotgun, total value of more than $300, were stolen Monday from the Waverly House bar in the 3000 block of Greenmount Ave.
Theft/arrest: Police arrested a man who tried to leave Stop, Shop & Save supermarket in the 2800 block of Greenmount Ave. without paying for two bottles of brandy valued at nearly $20.

Theft: Police were searching for a known suspect who stole a safe containing more than $500 Monday from a house in the 2700 block of Moorgate Road.
Theft: Stereo equipment valued at $500 was stolen Monday from a 1990 Jeep parked in the 6900 block of Railway Ave.
