Police arrest 2 adults, teen in mail theft

Police arrested two adults and a 16-year-old girl Friday during a raid on their Cape St. Claire home and charged them with stealing mail from neighbors.

Charla Malone, 32, Eugene Malone, 28, and the girl, all of the 1100 block of Latrobe Drive were charged with theft.


Police raided the home about 12: 30 p.m. after receiving information from area businesses about attempts to cash stolen checks.

Police said they recovered a large amount of mail and checks stolen from mailboxes in the Cape St. Clair area. Some of the checks had been mailed to residents, and others had been left in the boxes for pickup.


Police and U.S. postal inspectors were continuing the theft investigation.

Severna Park: The manager of a McDonald's restaurant in the 500 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. told police she was forced to open a safe by two gunmen about 10: 30 p.m. Saturday. The robbers fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Arnold: Two gunmen robbed a Papa John's delivery man Saturday as he left the pizza shop. Greg Spencer, 28, told police he was walking up the stairwell in front of the store in the 1400 block of Ritchie Highway about 2: 30 a.m. when the robbers confronted him. He handed over an undisclosed amount of money from his pocket, and the pair fled.

Millersville: Someone broke into and ransacked the Blooming Basket flower shop in the 8300 block of Veterans Highway overnight Wednesday but apparently left empty-handed.
