Terps women stomp Iona for 4th straight

Tiffany Brown scored 22 points, including four three-pointers, and had six assists to help Maryland rout Iona, 95-41, in a women's game last night at Cole Field House.

The Terps (13-4), who have won four games in a row, forced 40 turnovers and out-rebounded the Gaels, 41-27.

Sonia Chase added 15 points, six assists and eight steals for Maryland.

Iona (3-12) had only one player in double figures.

Mount St. Mary's 80, Monmouth 68: Amy Langville scored her 1,000th career point late in the second half to help host Mount St. Mary's (9-6, 4-3) win its fourth straight by defeating Monmouth (8-7, 5-2) in a Northeast Conference game.

Navy 52, Bucknell 42: Adria Schneck scored 18 to lead visiting Navy (16-2, 4-1) past Bucknell (7-9, 2-2) in a Patriot League game. Joanne Groth added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Mids, who secured the win by making 10 of 16 free throws in the final six minutes.

Mary Washington 60, Goucher 37: Lindsay Stover scored 19 to lift Mary Washington (4-7) by host Goucher (2-12).

Marymount 109, Salisbury State 102: Emily Case scored 28 and grabbed 12 rebounds to help six-time defending Capital Athletic Conference champion Marymount (14-1, 5-0) outlast host Salisbury State (9-6, 3-2).

Gallaudet 74, St. Mary's 71: Freshman center Ronda Miller scored 27 and grabbed 19 rebounds to help visiting Gallaudet (10-4, 4-1 CAC) win its third straight by edging St. Mary's (6-6, 3-2) in overtime.

Men

Bucknell 69, Navy 55: J. R. Holden scored a career-high 30 to lead Bucknell (9-7, 3-1 Patriot League) past visiting Navy (11-8, 3-2).

Michael Heary and Terrell Hickmon scored 13 each for Navy, which was held to 33 percent field-goal shooting. Heary, the Mids' leading scorer with an average of 15.2 points per game, was 4-for-18 from the field.

Johns Hopkins 76, Ursinus 75: Greg Roehrig scored 21 to lead four Blue Jays in double figures, and visiting Johns Hopkins (10-4, 3-1 Centennial Conference) nipped Ursinus (3-11, 2-3) in overtime.

Western Maryland 82, Gettysburg 74: Daeviid St. Rose scored seven straight in a 58-second span to lift Western Maryland (5-8, 2-3 Centennial Conference) by Gettysburg (5-10, 2-3).
