TONIGHT, Archbishop Spalding High School plays host to alumni night at the school, beginning with an alumni girls' basketball game at 5: 30 p.m., followed by an alumni boys' basketball game at 7 p.m.

Highlighting the evening is a game at 8: 30 p.m. between the Spalding faculty and players from WBAL Radio.

A donation of $1 at the door will benefit the school's alumni association. A reception in the cafeteria will follow the games. Information: 969-9105.

During the holiday shopping season, Spalding students, parents and friends made life easier for shoppers by wrapping gifts at Marley Station.

Saturday, Spalding students, along with Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce, presented the second annual Mark T. Baumgardner Needy Children Christmas Party.

More than 130 children and their families spent an afternoon with Santa.

Chamber installing officers

Greater Severna Park Chamber of Commerce will install officers at the January meeting.

They are Jim Coulter, president; Garry Anderson, first vice president; Judy Harris, second vice president; Tonya Hill, secretary; Kenneth Menzies, treasurer; and David McCollough, chairman of the board.

Board members are Mike Wilsman, Jim Price, Jay Middleton, Pat Coulter and Dennis Nolte.

New Year anniversaries

While most of us get ready to welcome 1997, Bob and Anne Donaldson are concentrating on celebrating their 53rd wedding anniversary Jan. 5, and Fred and Estelle Rietschel will celebrate their 51st Jan. 7.

Y plans active January

The YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County intends for us to be busy in the new year.

The YWCA is offering yoga, a new low-impact aerobics class, basketry for young people and adults, basic drawing, swimming lessons and aquatic aerobics at the Piney Orchard Community Center.

A one-day workshop in machine applique is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 9 and a group discussion of "The Christmas Box," by Richard Evans, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Jan. 7. The book discussion group meets the first Tuesday of the month.
