Running backs -- B -- Bam Morris ran well with 81 yards on 12 carries, but the Ravens' coaching staff should have used him more. Oh well, maybe next year.
Quarterback -- C+ -- Vinny Testaverde had a great season, but he always seems to make one glaring mistake. Yesterday, it was an interception in the second quarter.
Receivers -- C -- Michael Jackson had a good day, but the Ravens didn't have another receiver on the other side whom Houston considered a threat. Tight end Brian Kinchen had seven receptions for 70 yards, but he did not have a good blocking day.
Offensive line -- C -- The Ravens ran well when they had to, but coach Ted Marchibroda may have had them pass-blocking too much. Tackle Orlando Brown had trouble on the right side.
Defensive line -- C- -- Anthony Pleasant was a factor, but the team lost some steam when James Jones was out briefly with an injury. The until never produced a consistent pass rush.
Linebackers -- C- -- Ray Lewis had a presence with 10 total tackles, but Mike Croel and Keith Goganious didn't hold up on
the outside as consistently as they needed to.
Secondary -- D -- Maybe no player on the team improved as much in the second half as cornerback Antonio Langham, who had another solid effort yesterday. But the Ravens need help at the other corner and one of the safety postions. The nickel defense and dime packages never worked.
Special teams -- C+ -- Greg Montgomery had an excellent day, averaging 48.3 yards per punt, and the Ravens did a nice job on punt- and kick-return coverage: the Oilers' average starting position was their own 24.
