County police charged two men with theft in separate shoplifting incidents Monday at Macy's in Marley Station.
In the first incident, a store security guard saw a man put $150 worth of clothing in a bag, leave the store without paying, and take the items out of the bag elsewhere in the mall about 5: 30 p.m., police said. The security guard detained the man until police arrived.
The suspect, Gregory H. Evans, 32, of the 2200 block of Sidney Ave., Baltimore, was charged with theft and released.
In the second incident, a man paid for a hat and pair of jeans but tried to leave without paying for two other items -- a T-shirt and a duffel bag.
Police arrested Duncan J. A. Petit, 19, of England, about 6: 30 p.m. and charged him with theft.
Glen Gardens: Someone broke into a shed behind a home in the first block of New Jersey Ave. between midnight Friday and 7: 45 a.m. Saturday and stole a go-cart and three helmets, valued together at $825.
Glen Burnie: Someone broke into a 1996 Jeep parked on Chesapeake Center Drive in the Expressway Shopping Center between 7 p.m. and 8: 30 p.m. Saturday and stole $500 worth of computer tools.
Glen Burnie: Someone broke into a home in the 400 block of Crain Highway between 5 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday and stole a television, videocassette recorder and jewelry, all valued at $1,250.
Glen Burnie: Someone stole a wallet containing an unknown amount of cash and an ATM card from an employee's desk at Corkran Middle School between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday.
