15-year-old pleads guilty in slaying of Woodmoor man

A 15-year-old from western Baltimore County pleaded guilty yesterday in Baltimore County Circuit Court to second-degree murder in the slaying of John C. Robinson, 46, on March 12.

The teen-ager, Michael A. Morrisey, could face a 30-year prison term when he is sentenced Jan. 13.

Robinson, who lived in the 6900 block of Brightway Place in Woodmoor, was near Lantern Hills Drive at Aurora Lane in Woodmoor when Morrisey and Keon Tobin, 19, of the 3400 block of Essex Road in Woodmoor, tried to rob him, prosecutors said.

Robinson resisted, and Tobin fatally shot him in the head with a stolen handgun, prosecutors said. The robbery was not completed.

By pleading guilty, Morrisey, who lives in the 3100 block of Fairview Ave., averted a possible conviction for first-degree murder, which carries a life sentence.

Tobin, who also pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, is to be sentenced today.
