Humbug Forget the conventional wisdom that the holidays are a bad time to go job hunting, says Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc., a firm that helps laid-off workers find a new job. It's actually a good time, says the company, because demand for new workers is strong, especially in high-tech industries. And it warns procrastinators that excuses like "I have no resume" or "I'm too old" won't wash anymore.
Separation anxiety: Running a business out of your house may be a great idea at the start, but the day may come when your business will have to leave home. Inc. magazine says one sign that it's time to separate the two parts of your life is when "you can't tell where your business ends and your family begins."
