Ravens offensive tackles Tony Jones and Orlando Brown have a difficult mission tomorrow: Contain Kevin Greene and Lamar Lathon, Carolina's outside linebackers who form the most potent pass rushing duo in the NFL this season. Greene and Lathon, ranked first and second in the NFC, have combined for 26 sacks, only three less than the Ravens.
Jones said these are the types of challenges that can bring out the best in him and Brown. But, in order to contain the dynamic duo, they will need some help. Look for running back Bam Morris and tight ends Brian Kinchen and especially 265-pound Frank Hartley to spend some time staying home to block on pass plays.
"As the game goes on, we should have a tight end or a running back helping. You need that help, especially in the second half, when you start to get a little tired," said Jones.
Panthers' D experienced
The Panthers' defense, which has allowed an NFL-low 188 points, is built around veterans like Greene, Lathon, linebacker Sam Mills, cornerback Eric Davis and nosetackle Greg Kragen.
Then there's inside linebacker Carlton Bailey, the Woodlawn High graduate in his ninth NFL season. His 82 tackles rank third on the Panthers.
