Trahan, Burden & Charles Inc., a Baltimore advertising agency enjoying a growth spurt, has scored a national account to develop ad campaigns for a major computer company.
Micron Electronics Inc., a Nampa, Idaho, company that designs and manufactures computers and has $1.8 billion in annual sales, tapped the agency to develop advertising for products including personal computers, hardware and software.
The company, which sells through phone orders and the Internet, had handled advertising in-house.
Neither the agency nor the company would disclose billings. But Micron spent about $20 million for advertising during the first three quarters of 1996.
TBC officials called the account the largest the company has ever been awarded.
Announcement of the computer account comes just a week after TBC won an estimated $3 million-a-year account to advertise Greek olive oil.
That account, Micron and a few other major ones expected to be finalized soon will push TBC's annual billings from about $100 million to $150 million, the agency said.
