Three Baltimore County teen-agers have been charged with assaulting a 19-year-old man in Elkridge, Howard County police said.
Police found James Robert Harvey of Elkridge sitting on a curb at Hunt Hill Drive and Steepage Drive about 10: 57 p.m. Saturday after he was beaten with a large rock, wrench and tire iron in a fight between two rival groups of juveniles, police said.
He was taken to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was listed yesterday in stable condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Three Lansdowne youths -- identified as Dalton John Booth, 17, of the 3200 block of Ryerson Circle and William Frederick Stencil and John Daniel Barkley, both 16 and of the 3100 block of Aspen Court -- were arrested within minutes of the attack.
The three were charged as adults with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and using a deadly weapon with intent to injure, police said.
The three were released Sunday on their own recognizance.
