Man seized on weapons charge after routine traffic stop


Police arrested a Pasadena man Thursday on a weapons charge after a routine motor vehicle stop on Magothy Beach Road.

Mark Ford Ange Jr., 19, of the 100 block of Oak Drive was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon and failure to display a registration card, police said.

Officer Andrew E. Albach stopped a 1986 Nissan 300ZX on Magothy Beach Road near Mountain Road shortly before 4 a.m., when he saw the car had a broken license plate light.

Police said Albach asked the driver for his registration card and when the man opened the glove compartment to look for the card, the officer saw a knife in plain view.

Albach seized the weapon and arrested the man, police said.

Two men arrested on drug charges

Police arrested two men on drug charges Thursday and seized $240 after officers raided a Pasadena home.

Theodore Gustinene Faatz, 20, and George William Jones Sr., 38, both of the 600 block of Wise Ave., Pasadena, were charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

Narcotics detectives said they raided the home about 8 p.m. after receiving complaints about alleged drug activity there. In the house, officers found 5.4 grams of what tested positive for cocaine and a loaded 9 mm handgun, police said.
