Citadel: Announced C Brett Hughes (Owings Mills), 6-11, 200 pounds, signed national letter of intent to play basketball. He averaged 11 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks last season.

Clemson: Received commitment from QB Flade Nagle, 5-11, 185, from Lake Charles, La. Dropback quarterback will enroll in January. Chose Tigers over LSU.

East Carolina: Signed football coach Steve Logan to contract extension through 2001.

Florida: T Mo Collins tore medial collateral knee ligament and will miss the SEC title game Saturday and likely is out for bowl game. He is team's third offensive line starter out with an injury.

Lou Groza Award: Named Marc Primanti of N.C. State, perfect on 24 field-goal attempts and 20 point-after conversions, as top kicker for honor given by Palm Beach County (Fla.) Sports Commission. Named for Cleveland Browns' Hall of Fame kicker.

N.C. Charlotte: Announced resignation of women's volleyball coach Jim McClellan.

St. Olaf College: Named Paul Miller head football coach.

Temple: Fired offensive coordinator Nick Gasparato and defensive coordinator Dale Strahm.

Texas A&M;: Fired offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger, defensive coordinator Phil Bennett, and wide receivers coach Les Koennig.

Wake Forest: Fired defensive coordinator Chris Allen.
