The second car dealership to move into the new Howard County Auto Sales Park in Clarksville -- a Chrysler Plymouth Jeep Eagle dealership -- held its official opening yesterday, though it actually had opened for business Friday.
Two more dealerships bound for the auto park -- Clarksville's Antwerpen Toyota Village and another dealership owned by Antwerpen -- will be completed by mid-January, said Auto Park manager Kevin Bell. Bell is the president of Win Kelly Chevrolet, the park's first dealership, which opened in March 1995.
The 45-acre auto park, at routes 108 and 32, is owned by 108 Limited Partnership. It could hold three more dealerships, for a total of seven. Bell is now talking to other area dealers about relocating to the park.
Shelly Warsaw, owner of the new Chrysler Plymouth Jeep Eagle dealership, moved his dealership from Catonsville because the Clarksville-Columbia area is "growing in leaps and bounds."
An official ribbon-cutting attended by Howard County Executive Charles I. Ecker was held yesterday at the new dealership.
Warsaw said the new dealership was doing well and sold 25 cars in its first two days.
He said the auto park offers "one-stop" shopping.
