The Maryland men's soccer team will make its third straight appearance in the NCAA tournament, playing host to James Madison at Ludwig Field on Saturday night, tentatively at 7.
The Terps (13-5-3), who have the top ranking in the South Atlantic Region after stunning top-ranked Virginia in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game, lost to the Dukes in overtime during the regular season.
The teams met in the second round of the NCAA tournament last year, and James Madison won in a shootout.
"It's a great first-round game and we've played some great first-round games the past couple of years," said Maryland coach Sasho Cirovski, whose Terps have advanced to the second round the past two seasons.
"You have to play the best teams at some point down the line," he said, "and we have to face one in the first round. I think it's the best first-round game in the nation."
The Terps are 12th in the Soccer America poll released yesterday.
The Maryland women (18-4-2) are in the second round, and will play San Diego (14-5-1) at home at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The Terps defeated George Washington, 2-0, in the first round.
