Dangers in the night make lineup unsettling place

Turn on the television these days and you're bound to be stalked by aliens or serial killers, or maybe both. Be careful out there.

"Dark Skies" (8 p.m.-9 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- So, have we reached alien overload yet? Will the little critters with the big eyes come and get me for saying so? In this episode, Loengard (Eric Close) and Kimberly (Megan Ward) check out cattle mutilations in the Midwest. Of course, alien tampering is evident. NBC.

"Father of the Bride" (8 p.m.-10 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- Steve Martin stars as about the most frantic dad in history as his daughter prepares to wed and possibly bankrupt him in the process. The remake of the Spencer Tracy-Liz Taylor classic is lightweight fun. Diane Keaton and Kimberly Williams (of "Relativity") co-star. ABC.

"Early Edition" (9 p.m.-10 WJZ, Channel 13) -- Gary (Kyle Chandler) desperately tries to prevent a young girl from abandoning her child when his magical newspaper tips him off. Yes, it's another story ripped from tomorrow's headlines. CBS.

"Profiler" (10 p.m.-11 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- Sam (Ally Walker) discovers that the serial killer known as Jack-of-All-Trades is trying to send messages through his victims to a very specific target -- her. Like kiss-of-death Jessica Fletcher in "Murder She Wrote," apparently Sam is not someone you want to know, as her unfortunate acquaintances find out. NBC.

"Relativity" (10 p.m.-11 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- Is this show still on? Yes, in tonight's episode of this sadly disappointing drama about unusually cute twentysomethings in love, Leo (David Conrad) is bummed when his brother gets all the attention. ABC.

"MAD TV" (11 p.m.-midnight, WBFF, Channel 45) -- You ought to know that one of the skits tonight is called "Young Alanis Morissette." Fox.

"Only You" (6 p.m.-8 p.m., Showtime) -- Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr. star in a movie that's a lot like the first episode of "Relativity," only sweeter. It's a winning, if featherweight, romance.

"Bugs Bunny" (6: 30 p.m.-7 p.m., TNT) -- If you're going to see "Space Jam," which opens next week, you'd better brush up on your classic Bugs cartoons first.

"Pandora's Clock" (9 p.m.-11 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- Richard Dean Anderson, better known as "MacGyver," stars as the captain of a jetliner that carries a passenger with a killer virus. The pilot must race the clock to save his passengers without dooming the world. The miniseries, based on the John J. Nance novel, premieres tomorrow and continues Monday. NBC.
