Jazz on Tilghman
Jazz fans can get their fill this Saturday afternoon on the Eastern Shore. The Second Annual Tilghman Island Jazz Festival will be held at Back Creek Park.
Among the scheduled performers are jazz flute player Frank Wess, singer and saxophonist Deanna Bogart, Charlie Byrd, Terry Gibbs and the Unified Jazz Ensemble. In addition to musical entertainment, the festival will offer arts, crafts and seafood.
The jazz festival takes place Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. . Gates open at 10: 30 a.m. Tickets are $16.50 in advance; $20 at the gate. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Visitors are advised to bring blankets and chairs. Call (410) 822-4606. The Hagley Museum in Wilmington, Del., will celebrate the centennial of the automobile this Sunday. "100 Years of Cars" will feature about 500 cars and more than 45 makes. The cars will be displayed according to decade and represent nearly every production year since 1896.
The celebration will offer food, musical entertainment and a parade of cars throughout the day. Also, a group will disassemble and reassemble a Model T Ford truck.
"100 Years of Cars" takes place Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Hagley Museum. For this event, use the Buck Road east entrance off Route 100 in Wilmington. Admission is $5 adults; $3 ages 6-14; $12 for families and free for children under 6. Call (302) 658-2400.
