Royal Farm store robbed by woman wielding knife


A woman with a rusty knife robbed a Royal Farm store of an undisclosed amount of money Tuesday, county police said.

A clerk at the store in the 200 block of Oak Manor Drive told police that a woman walked in about 2 a.m., saying she had lost her keys. While the clerk helped her look for her keys, the woman went behind the counter, held a rusty 4-inch knife to his side and demanded money, police said.

The robber ordered the clerk to open the register. When he complied, she grabbed the cash and ran toward a nearby apartment complex, police said.

Man robs restaurant after ordering coffee

A man robbed the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway about 7: 30 p.m. Tuesday, county police said.

The man sat at a booth for a few minutes, then walked to the register, ordered a cup of coffee and gave the cashier a dollar, witnesses told police.

When the register was opened, the man pulled out a black handgun with a long barrel and demanded money, from two registers, police said. The cashier gave money to the man, who ran north on Ritchie Highway, police said.
