Running game was sluggish in first half, and didn't get results until second when passing game opened things up. Ravens had 95 yards total, but best average belonged to Vinny "Fran Tarkenton" Testaverde.
Testaverde ran no-huddle with precision and made some great throws. But he should have thrown ball away instead of taking sacks couple times in first half.
Group wasn't involved in game much until midway through third quarter. Michael Jackson had solid game despite double coverage. TE Brian Kinchen was superb.
Line struggled early and had trouble picking up blitzes. But it wore down Raiders in second half, tribute to its conditioning.
Line generated no pass rush in first two quarters, but it turned it up a notch in second half. Great pursuit limited yardage on Raiders sweeps in second half.
Mike Caldwell and Mike Croel had trouble stopping Raiders sweeps in first half, but not in second. Ray Lewis played well in second half, but was sloppy on couple tackles in first.
Right CB Issac Booth had trouble in first half but played with much more confidence in second. CB Antonio Langham made nice break on interception, and safeties shut down tight ends in
Punter Greg Montgomery kept Raiders pinned down most of game, and kicker Matt Stover was excellent. Now, if returner Jermaine Lewis would just run under those low punts . . .
Ravens had trouble finding solution for Raiders' blitzes early. Marchibroda made smart move going with no-huddle, and third-quarter pep talk inspired players.
