The sixth annual Baltimore Symphony Associates Wine Sale begins Sept 8 and continues through Oct. 31.
This year's wine selection features a 1995 Chardonnay Bourgogne, a 1993 Clos de la Vielle Eglise Bordeaux, and a 1993 Arthus. Each bottle has a Baltimore Symphony wine label. Wine is sold by the full or mixed case and can be ordered only through the Baltimore Symphony box office. Cases of the chardonnay and Bordeaux are $130 and a six-bottle case of Arthus is $120. Tickets to another BSO fund-raising event, the annual Baltimore Symphony Gala, scheduled for Saturday, are sold out.
The evening will feature the BSO in a preview of musical works from lively tango beats to classical crescendos. Dinner and dancing are included.
Choir invites singers
Cor Rehoboth, a Rehoboth Welsh Choir, begins rehearsing Tuesday for the 1996-1997 concert season, and the choir has openings for new members, especially sopranos and tenors.
Singers wishing to participate should join the choir at its first rehearsal at 7: 30 p.m., Fairview Methodist Church, Jarrettsville Pike, just south of Jacksonville.

The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions Choral Society is looking for new members. Anyone interested in joining the group should attend a rehearsal reception at 5: 15 p.m. Sept. 17 in the East Wing Auditorium of the School of Hygiene and Public Health, at Wolfe and Monument streets.
The choral society will perform Mozart's "Requiem" and Haydn's "Mass in the Time of War" this season.

The Maryland Writers Association Conference, scheduled for Sept. 21, will feature a mystery/suspense seminar and contest, a small-press and self-publishing symposium, and 12 other workshops ranging from children's books to working the Internet.

Sugarloaf Art Fair
The Sugarloaf Art Fair is accepting exhibitor applications for its juried 1997 Spring Timonium Art Fair, scheduled for April 25-27 at the state fairgrounds.
All applications must include five 35-mm color slides and must be received by Sept. 30. Applicants will be notified of the results by mail.
