In search of a lost night of winning entertainment

Looking at tonight's TV lineup, one thought jumps to mind immediately: Why did the Olympics have to end so soon?

"Second Noah" (8 p.m.-9 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- In this repeat from April, a lonely freshman claims Ricky (James Marsden) made her pregnant, while Ben (Gemini) learns French from a parrot. ABC.

"Atlantis: In Search of a Lost Continent" (8 p.m.-9 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- Host Richard Crenna notes there are about six locations worldwide where "evidence" of the great lost civilization of Atlantis has been found. Did Plato really know what he was talking about? NBC.

"Smithsonian Fantastic Journey" (8 p.m.-9 p.m., WJZ, Channel 13) -- CBS and the Smithsonian conspire once again to take us around the world, including a stop in Guam, where a snake with a voracious appetite is causing all sorts of problems. CBS.

"Gregory K" (9 p.m.-11 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- Joseph Gordon Levitt (the youngest alien on "3rd Rock From the Sun") portrays Gregory Kingsley, a 12-year-old boy who decided he preferred his foster family to his real one, so sued to terminate his parents' legal hold on him. ABC.

"The World's Greatest Magic II" (9 p.m.-11 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- A bunch of magicians gather in Las Vegas to amaze and delight. Sure highlight: Penn and Teller try the old "magic bullet" trick. NBC.

"Support Your Local Gunfighter" (8 p.m.-10 p.m., Family Channel) -- Though not as good as its predecessor, "Support Your Local Sheriff," this 1971 film is still a hoot and a half. And James Garner is always fun to watch, especially in a comedy.

"Exit to Eden" (11: 30 p.m.-1: 30 a.m., HBO) -- If this film was supposed to be funny, it isn't. If this movie was supposed to be sexy, it isn't. If this movie was meant to be anything except awful, it isn't. Dan Aykroyd and Rosie O'Donnell are cops trying to capture some diamond smugglers who have found their way onto a sex resort. Dana Delaney of "China Beach" is the mistress of the resort (you'll love her outfits), who inexplicably loses her heart to some smart-alecky twerp who talks sassy to her. Low points: Aykroyd and O'Donnell trying to elicit laughs while dressed in S&M; garb. Awful. Awful. Awful.
