Man charged with dealing drugs at shopping center


A tip to county police led to the arrest Wednesday of a Pasadena man who was charged with trafficking in 81 grams of " drugs in Glen Burnie.

Tyrone Judea Hall, 23, of the 8300 block of Catherine Ave. was charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute. He was being held in lieu of $100,00 bond.

Police said a tip that a man was selling drugs in the 7100 block of Furnace Branch Road led narcotics detectives and officers from the Special Operations Unit to a Glen Burnie strip shopping center.

As officers attempted to pull over a man in a 1989 Corvette, he tried to flee by backing the car over a curb, police said. When he failed, he got out of the car and ran, according to a report.

Officers said they saw the man throw down three packages of what later tested positive for crack cocaine. They caught and arrested the man, police said.

Officers seized $8,100 worth of drugs and $473.

Parking dispute leads to battery charge

County police arrested a Glen Burnie man Wednesday on charges that he beat another man in a parking dispute.

Ronald John Bedingfield, 28, of the 100 block of Alview Terrace was charged with battery.

Mark J. Smith, 35, of the first block of N. Meadow Drive was treated at North Arundel Hospital and released.

Police said a man pulled into Smith's parking lot in the 7600 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. shortly after 4 p.m. Smith told the man to move the car. Witnesses told police the two got into an argument and the man punched Smith in the face.

Woman's purse snatched by car passenger

A Millersville woman was the victim of a drive-by purse snatching Wednesday at Marley Station, county police said.

Mary J. O'Rourke, 54, of the 700 block of Oakwilde Way told police she was on the mall parking lot shortly before 6 p.m. when a white, older-model car approached. As the car drove by, a back-seat passenger reached out of the window and grabbed her purse, and the car sped off, police said.
