Sharon D. Gibbs joins American Lung Association

Gibbs Sharon D. Gibbs of Laurel has joined the American Lung Association as area director of the Maryland Capital Area office in Beltsville.

Gibbs, of Santa Ana, Calif., will concentrate on program and financial development.

Deborah Menard of Ellicott City has been named administrator at the Odenton-Meade Health Center.

Formerly she worked as site manager for the George Washington Health Plan in Laurel.

Banker Dael is appointed to Federal Reserve panel

Dael Robert Dael, senior vice president at the Columbia Bank, has been appointed to the 5th District Operations Advisory Committee for the Richmond Federal Reserve. He will serve for four years.

The 5th District includes Virginia, North Carolina, Washington, Maryland and West Virginia.

Sister Carol Marozzi of Catonsville has been named director of the Bon Secours Spiritual Center in Marriottsville.

She had been serving as program and staff development coordinator at the center.

Business resource center is focus of Wednesday talk

Elkridge Bank will sponsor "Accessing the Business ResourcCenter" from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Howard County Chamber of Commerce, 5560 Sterrett Place in Columbia. The cost is $5.

Gene Hubbard of Hub Consulting will discuss the Business Resource Center and its libraries of information.

Community college sponsors software open house

Howard Community College will sponsor an open house on business software training from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Howard Community College Business Training Center in Columbia.

The training includes programs such as Novell and Microsoft networking.

Hopkins graduate programs have Aug. 19 registration

The Johns Hopkins School of Continuing Studies will hold registration for the fall semester for graduate programs in business and education from 11: 30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6: 30 p.m. Aug. 19.

The school is at the Hopkins Columbia Center, 6740 Alexander Bell Drive in Gateway Center Park.

The Baltimore-Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce, 7901 Sandy Spring Road in Laurel, will hold a brown-bag lunch program from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday.
