Bucknell tacks on major honor for lacrosse standout Trietley

Bucknell's storybook lacrosse season has translated into an additional award for Andy Trietley (Mount St. Joseph).

A defensive midfielder who was a two-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week this season, Trietley received Bucknell's Alvin F. Jackson Scholar-Athlete Award "in recognition athletics, academics, leadership, loyalty and courage."

Trietley is a civil engineering major with a 3.5 grade-point average and a student leader of the ROTC unit. He helped lead Bucknell to its first undefeated (12-0) regular season in school history and its first Patriot League title.

* Widener senior attackman Ryan Price (John Carroll) was named Middle Atlantic Conference Player of the Year by the coaches. Widener's all-time leader in points (140) and goals (112), Price led the team in scoring for the second straight season.

* Russell Croft (St. Paul's) is bound for London to study international business after scoring 134 career points for Washington and Lee, 13th best in school history.... Andrea Krumholz (Friends), a defender who is assigned the opponent's top scorer, will be a Dartmouth tri-captain next season.... Yale senior Sharon Langhoff (Notre Dame Prep) made the Division I All-America second team.... William and Mary defender Jeanne Lekin (Roland Park) made the third team as a sophomore.... At Hobart, Todd Muendel (Severn) as the team's No. 2 scorer with 20 goals and Bryan Riehl (Loyola) finished his career with 272 ground balls, 29 short of the school cord.... Brad Baker (Fallston) led Lehigh with 20 assists.... Senior JoAnn Binko (Perry Hall) completed the season as Ithaca's scoring leader with 42 goals and 63 points.... Kathleen Harrington (Garrison Forest) had 259 saves for Lynchburg, including a career-high 29 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship game the 10th-best total in Division III history.... For the third straight season, senior goalie Niels Maumenee (St. Paul's) was Colorado College's defensive MVP.... Bill McLean (Towson), Mary Washington's career scoring leader with 159 points, was named to the Capital Athletic Conference second team.... Sandy Jenkin (Severna Park) had a strong freshman season, finishing as Susquehanna's No. 3 scorer and No. 7 in the Middle Atlantic Conference with 15 goals.

Softball

Heather Pandullo (Meade), who led Drexel in batting (.352) and RBIs (17), was the school's lone representative on the North Atlantic Conference first team.... Jen Bostak (Old Mill), who started 208 of 210 games in four years at La Salle, made the Atlantic 10 all tournament team as the third baseman.... Robert Morris' Jen Schmittle (Old Mill) earned All-Northeast Conference honors at first base.

Miscellaneous

After fourths in the 1,500- and 3,000-meter runs in the Big East Conference meet, Villanova freshman Krissy Jost (Perry Hall) placed third in the 1,500 in the IC4A/ECAC Regional Championships.... West Virginia freshman Kevin Olkowski (Calvert Hall) who has played third base as well as DH, raised his average to .367 by going 2-for-3 against Richmond.... Temple's Dominic Boardley (Annapolis) had season high scores of 9.45 in floor exercise, 8.60 in vault and 8.75 on the high bar.... Franklin and Marshall junior golfer Sinclair Eaddy ( St . Paul's) averaged 98 and had a low of 87 in nine rounds this season.
