Police look for driver involved in 3-car crash


Police are seeking the driver of a Datsun that was involved in a three-car collision on Route 30 in Hampstead about 6: 30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said Laura B. Gartell, 27, of Manchester was driving southbound near Basler Road when she became distracted and her car struck the Datsun from behind.

The Datsun spun across the center line and collided with a third vehicle, driven by Alfred L. Waters of Hanover, Pa. The driver of the Datsun then sped away.

Gartell was taken to Carroll County General Hospital, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said yesterday. Waters was not seriously injured.
